U.S. President Donald Trump has shared his thoughts on the growing crisis surrounding the British Royal Family, following the controversy involving Prince Andrew, Duke of York.
Just last week, King Charles took decisive action by formally removing Prince Andrew’s royal titles and instructing him to vacate his residence at Royal Lodge in Windsor. This move came after renewed scrutiny over Andrew’s past association with the late financier and convicted offender Jeffrey Epstein. Although the Duke has consistently denied all allegations against him, public pressure for accountability has remained intense.
Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, President Trump described the situation as “a terrible thing,” expressing sympathy for the Royal Family. He said, “It’s a terrible thing that’s happened to the family. That’s been a tragic situation and it’s too bad. I mean, I feel badly for the family.”
Trump has long expressed admiration for the British monarchy, maintaining warm relations with both the late Queen Elizabeth II and King Charles III. During his state visit to the United Kingdom earlier this year, he praised the monarch, saying, “I think being with King Charles was the best part of the trip. He’s a wonderful guy. I got to know him very well I knew him before, but now I know him a lot better.”
It remains unclear whether the U.S. President and King Charles have spoken privately about the ongoing situation with Prince Andrew. However, Trump’s public comments highlight the global attention the Royal Family continues to attract during this difficult chapter.
