For years, whispers about Russian President Vladimir Putin’s health have stirred debate and curiosity around the world. From Parkinson’s to cancer and even reports of cardiac issues, speculation has been constant though none of these claims have ever been confirmed by the Kremlin.
One of the strangest rumors dates back to 2022, when the French news magazine Paris Match published an investigation suggesting that Putin’s bodyguards reportedly collect and return his bodily waste to Russia during foreign visits. According to the report, members of the Federal Protection Service (FPS) allegedly use sealed containers and carry them in a special briefcase supposedly to prevent foreign intelligence agencies from gathering health data.
This odd claim was echoed by former BBC journalist Farida Rustamova, who said she heard similar reports of the Russian leader using a private portable toilet during an overseas trip to Vienna.
While such reports remain unverified, they’ve added to the growing intrigue about Putin’s physical condition. Recent footage showing him gripping tables tightly or tapping his foot during meetings has fueled online discussions suggesting signs of Parkinson’s disease though medical experts caution against drawing conclusions without verified medical evidence.
In October last year, the controversial Telegram channel General SVR claimed that Putin had suffered a “cardiac arrest” and was briefly resuscitated a claim the Kremlin immediately dismissed as false. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told reporters, “Everything is fine with him this is another fake story.”
Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky added to the debate earlier this year by bluntly predicting that Putin “will die soon.” His remark further ignited public speculation but, again, no official information supports any reports of serious illness.
For now, the rumors surrounding Vladimir Putin’s health remain just that unconfirmed stories amplified by mystery, secrecy, and a global fascination with one of the world’s most guarded political figures.
