Fox News halts for breaking news as Trump shouts at the camera ahead of pivotal meeting

Fox News briefly interrupted its Monday broadcast to air live footage of President Donald Trump welcoming Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese to the White House.

During the October 20 episode of Faulkner Focus, host Harris Faulkner was in the middle of discussing the New York City mayoral race with political analyst Gianno Caldwell when she suddenly cut to breaking news footage of Trump greeting Albanese.

“This is breaking right now,” Faulkner told viewers. “The president greeting the Australian prime minister. Gianno, I’ll come back to you. Let’s watch this live.”

As the two leaders met, Faulkner noted that rare earth minerals were expected to be a major topic in their discussions, adding that the United States and Australia have maintained a long-standing strategic friendship.

Reporters could be heard asking President Trump questions as he approached the press. When asked for his message to Australians, Trump responded enthusiastically, “We love them.”

When another journalist asked what he hoped to accomplish, Trump replied, “A lot, a lot. Great things.”

Prime Minister Albanese added with a smile, “We’re going to get a lot done.”

Faulkner summarized, “The president loves Australia. We have a great relationship. They’re heading into the Oval Office now for talks that could cover trade, defense, and more.”

Later in the show, Fox News once again interrupted a commercial break to broadcast live footage from inside the White House. But a brief technical glitch occurred as cameras were being set up.

Trump appeared momentarily frustrated by the delay, asking, “Did you want to move your camera over here? Who are you shooting for?”

As the team adjusted equipment, he joked about an accident involving a historic mirror. “You’ve got to watch that you’re not allowed to break that. That mirror is 400 years old. I just moved it from the vaults, and the first thing that happens a camera hits it!” he said, turning to Albanese with a laugh. “Hard to believe, isn’t it? But these are the problems in life.”

Despite the hiccup, both leaders later continued their discussions on trade, military cooperation, and joint projects involving submarines and advanced defense systems.
