Donald Trump’s Meeting with Zelensky Goes Off the Rails as He Rants About His Nobel Peace Prize Snub

During what was supposed to be a serious diplomatic meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Donald Trump once again turned the spotlight on himself this time with an unhinged rant about not winning the Nobel Peace Prize.

In front of international media, Trump veered off-topic from the Russia–Ukraine war, rambling about how he had supposedly “solved eight wars” and that this one would be his “ninth.” He bizarrely claimed that he had brought peace to places like Rwanda, Congo, India, and Pakistan, despite providing no evidence.

Trump told reporters, “Maybe it can turn around, maybe it can... but in the meantime, we’ll have them keep a little bit of distance and we’re going to see if we can get it done.”

He then insisted that he doesn’t “care” about the Nobel Prize, even though he has publicly campaigned for it several times in the past. “I didn’t get a Nobel Prize,” Trump complained. “Somebody else got it... very nice woman... I don’t know who she is, but she was very generous.”

That “very nice woman” was María Corina Machado, a Venezuelan opposition leader and this year’s Nobel Peace Prize recipient. Ironically, she’s the same figure Trump has openly supported in his ongoing efforts to overthrow Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro. His claim of not knowing who she is raises questions about his awareness or memory possibly another sign of his declining cognitive sharpness that even his former aides have noted.

Meanwhile, President Volodymyr Zelensky sat calmly through the awkward exchange, maintaining his composure and professionalism. As Trump drifted from one self-congratulatory tangent to another claiming to have “saved millions of lives” and that “no other president solved wars” Zelensky’s patience underscored his focus on his country’s survival rather than political theatrics.

Trump’s performance once again highlighted the chaotic and self-absorbed nature of his foreign policy. Despite his repeated boasts of being a “peacemaker,” his administration has engaged in military escalations in regions like Venezuela and Iran directly contradicting his rhetoric about peace.

For a man who constantly boasts about his leadership, Trump seems far more concerned about recognition and legacy than actual diplomacy. Every time he claims to “solve wars,” the world sees another example of a leader who misunderstands global affairs, confuses countries, and undermines America’s credibility on the world stage.

  1. Reading this whole nonsense, I really am very supprised by your comments.
To start with you comment about Trump's cognitive decline almost stating 'how can he lead the country in that condition', when Joe Biden was in such a state of senility that he couldn't handle a public debate with Trump and everybody was trying to hide something that couldn't be hidden it was so obvious.
Secondly, you state that he made unsubstantiated claims. Do you think that your blog can substantiate your claims?
Finaly, Democrats and all their followers like you revert to personal attacks when you have nothing of value to add to the current debate.
It's pitiful to note that there's no comment on your part about Joe Biden's cognitive decline nor that Obama got the Nobel peace prise for what? Nothing of substance anyway.
How dramatically pityfull your comments are.

    1. Please open your eyes a bit wider. What you say about Biden is probably true, but tRump lies are so obvious and enormous that anybody with a minimum of sense can see / hear them.
