Donald Trump makes bombshell announcement about 2028 US election

Just before leaving Washington for his latest Asian tour, Donald Trump dropped fresh hints about his political future sparking a new wave of speculation in D.C.

The U.S. President boarded Air Force One on Monday for a trip to Malaysia, Japan, and South Korea, aiming to strengthen America’s trade relationships. Trump’s upcoming meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping at the APEC summit in Gyeongju is being closely watched by global investors, many of whom hope the two leaders might sign a new trade or investment agreement.

But back in Washington, the talk wasn’t only about economics it was about Trump’s next move.

“There Are Plans” Bannon’s Remark Ignites Speculation

Trump’s longtime ally Steve Bannon told The Economist that “there are plans” to allow the President to potentially run for a third term, despite the 22nd Amendment of the U.S. Constitution limiting presidents to two four-year terms.

Some political observers have even floated an unusual idea that Trump could run as Vice President in 2028, alongside another Republican candidate. In theory, if that candidate won and later stepped aside, Trump could return to the White House.

When reporters asked him about this possibility aboard Air Force One, Trump brushed it off with a laugh.

“It’s too cute,” he said, firmly ruling out the idea of running for Vice President.

Still, he noticeably stopped short of ruling out a future presidential run altogether.

Trump Teases Supporters with “Trump 4EVA” Video

Fueling further speculation, Trump recently shared a video on Truth Social that many saw as a cheeky hint at his long-term ambitions.

The clip showed a mock TIME magazine cover titled “How Trumpism Outlasts Trump.” The image zoomed in to reveal a series of campaign yard signs reading:

“Trump 2028,” “Trump 2032,” “Trump 2036,” and more — all the way to “Trump 2048.”

As the years continued rolling forward, the signs finally ended with a bold message:

“Trump 4EVA.”

Set to Edvard Grieg’s dramatic In the Hall of the Mountain King, the post instantly went viral among his supporters and critics alike.

A Historical Perspective

The only U.S. president ever to serve more than two terms was Franklin D. Roosevelt, who won four elections between 1932 and 1944. His unprecedented tenure led Congress to pass the 22nd Amendment in 1951, formally limiting future presidents to two terms.

Whether Trump will ever challenge that historical boundary remains to be seen. But one thing is clear his influence on American politics shows no signs of fading anytime soon.
