Donald Trump humiliates CNN reporter as speech turns tense: 'Not you!'

During an Oval Office press conference on October 16th, tensions flared when President Donald Trump refused to answer a question from a CNN reporter, reviving his long-standing feud with the network.

The press briefing came after Trump’s phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, and ahead of his upcoming meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. While addressing reporters, Trump mentioned that he might need to “speak to Russia first” before giving Ukraine access to Tomahawk missile systems, describing the move as a potential bargaining tool in U.S.–Russia–Ukraine relations.

However, the mood in the room shifted when a CNN journalist tried to ask a question. Trump quickly cut them off, saying:

“I didn’t say you you’re CNN fake news.”

He then moved on to another reporter without acknowledging CNN’s question.

The moment, captured on video, has since gone viral on X (formerly Twitter), with thousands of reactions. Some users cheered Trump’s response, calling it “classic Trump energy,” while others criticized his behavior, saying it showed a lack of professionalism expected from a U.S. president.

One viewer commented:

“I love him. If I were ever in office, this would be me I wouldn’t care if I got re-elected or not.”

Another person disagreed, writing:

“He’s like a big toddler. I can’t believe people still support this behavior.”

Others noted the double standards, with one user adding:

“Obama would’ve been crucified if he acted like this.”

This isn’t the first time Trump has clashed with CNN reporters. In another recent briefing streamed on the White House’s official YouTube channel, he singled out the same network again, saying:

“This is CNN speaking, by the way one of the worst reporters you’ll ever see.”

He followed with a dismissive hand wave and added:

“I don’t even want to take a question, it’s a waste of time.”

Trump’s frequent sparring with major media outlets, especially CNN, continues to be a defining feature of his press interactions a dynamic that divides public opinion every time it happens.

  1. The press no matter which one should ask the hard questions they should never cower to him. If he is averse to criticism he should resign and go find a venue that just showers him with accolades the presidency is no place for the thin skin and easily offended
