President Donald Trump’s niece, Mary Trump, shared her reaction after the former president was asked how he was coping with the tragic death of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
When reporters questioned him about Kirk’s passing, Trump responded, “I think very good. And by the way, right there you see all the trucks. They just started construction of the new ballroom for the White House, which is something they’ve been trying to get for about 150 years. And it’s going to be a beauty.”
Mary Trump, who has often been a vocal critic of her uncle, wrote on X: “This is quite the display of grief.”
Charlie Kirk, co-founder of Turning Point USA, was fatally shot at Utah Valley University at just 31 years old. Utah Governor Spencer Cox confirmed that Tyler Robinson, the suspected gunman, was taken into custody after a multi-day search. According to investigators, Robinson had expressed political hostility toward Kirk before the shooting.
Following the tragedy, Trump paid tribute to Kirk on Truth Social, calling him “The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk” and praising his dedication to American youth. He also referred to him as a “GIANT of his generation.”
On Fox and Friends, Trump added: “He loved young people, he wanted to help young people, and he didn’t deserve this. He was truly a good person.”
FBI Director Kash Patel also issued a statement, saying the agency was committed to bringing justice to Kirk’s family. Governor Cox confirmed that Robinson will face charges and is currently held in Utah County Jail. The investigation remains ongoing.
Does anyone think Robinson will live long enough to go trial?
