Former US President Joe Biden, 82, has undergone surgery for skin cancer, his spokesperson has confirmed. Recent video footage captured Biden leaving church with a visible scar on his head, sparking questions about his health.
According to his spokesperson Kelly Scully, Biden had Mohs surgery, a procedure where thin layers of skin are carefully removed and examined for cancer cells until none remain. Doctors confirmed that he is recovering well.
This is not the first time Biden has faced cancer treatment. In 2023, while in office, he had a basal cell carcinoma removed from his chest. Around the same time, First Lady Jill Biden also had two basal cell carcinomas removed one near her eye and another on her chest.
Health updates about Biden have become a growing topic since March 2025, when his office revealed that he had been diagnosed with aggressive stage-four prostate cancer that had spread to his bones. Despite the seriousness, his medical team noted that the cancer is hormone-sensitive, meaning it can be managed with treatment. Biden himself addressed the news on social media, saying:
“Cancer touches us all. Like so many of you, Jill and I have learned that we are strongest in the broken places.”
Meanwhile, attention has also turned to current US President Donald Trump, 79, who has been spotted in public showing signs of declining health. Photos of Trump revealed swollen ankles and a bruised hand, sparking speculation about his fitness.
After briefly disappearing from public view, he was later photographed on a golf course, but observers noted that he appeared unwell.
On social media, some users compared the media’s coverage of both leaders. Political commentator Chris D. Jackson wrote on X:
“Joe Biden vs Donald Trump today. Speaks for itself, doesn’t it? When’s the media going to wake up about Trump’s failing health and give it even half the coverage they obsessed over with Biden?”
With both men facing serious health questions, the conversation around age, leadership, and fitness for office is only likely to intensify as America looks ahead politically.
President Biden has been treated for skin cancer before. At least he is being transparent about it despite the fact is not obligated to do so. Unlike 2X Impeached, Convicted Felon, Adjudicated Rapist And Alleged Pedafile Donald J. Trump who is deteriorating before the publics eye, lying about his health and fund raising on it.
