Fox News halted for chilling breaking news after shooting at church

Fox News interrupted its Sunday programming to deliver a tragic breaking news update about a mass shooting at a church in Grand Blanc, Michigan. National correspondent Bryan Llenas reported live as details of the devastating incident unfolded, calling it a “horrific scene” that has shaken both the community and the nation.

According to early reports, multiple victims were shot inside the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Llenas confirmed that the shooting was no longer active, and the suspect had been “taken down” by police. Authorities initially estimated between six and eight victims, though they later clarified that nine people were injured. All the injured, who suffered gunshot wounds, were rushed to nearby hospitals and remain in stable condition.

The broadcast also included a statement from attorney general Pam Bondi, who condemned the violence. She described the attack as “heartbreaking and chilling” and confirmed that FBI and ATF agents were en route to assist local law enforcement. Bondi urged Americans to keep the victims and their families in their prayers during what she called “a terrible tragedy.”

Llenas noted that the scene was even more complex as first responders were battling both the aftermath of the shooting and a fire that investigators believe was deliberately set by the gunman. Video footage showed emergency crews rescuing worshippers on stretchers while others managed to flee the building on their own.

The suspect, a 40-year-old man whose name has not been released, was fatally shot by police at the scene. Investigators are actively searching his property and examining his phone records to determine a possible motive. Authorities have not yet provided information about his connection to the church or the victims.

The tragedy has prompted strong responses from national and state leaders. President Donald Trump issued a statement saying: “The suspect is dead, but there is still a lot to learn.” He also suggested the attack may have been a targeted assault against Christians. Michigan governor Gretchen Whitmer also responded, saying, “Violence anywhere, especially in a place of worship, is unacceptable.” She confirmed she is closely monitoring the investigation.

With federal and state agencies now assisting in Grand Blanc, officials are expected to release further details in a press conference. For now, the community is left reeling from an attack that turned a Sunday service into a scene of chaos and grief.
