US President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump are scheduled to arrive in the UK on Tuesday for a two-day state visit. The trip is already drawing international attention, especially after details of Trump’s admiration for Princess Kate were revealed just days before his arrival.
On Wednesday morning, Prince William and Princess Kate, both 43, will officially welcome the Trumps in the grounds of Windsor Castle before introducing them to King Charles and Queen Camilla. The event will include an open-air greeting followed by a carriage procession to Windsor Castle, a ceremonial highlight of the visit.
Originally set for September 17, the Trumps’ arrival date was moved forward as part of a last-minute schedule change.
On the final day of the visit, Melania Trump is expected to tour Queen Mary’s Dolls’ House and the Royal Library at Windsor Castle, before joining Princess Kate at Frogmore Gardens.
According to sources quoted in the Mail, the Trumps are said to be “thrilled” that the Princess of Wales will play such a prominent role in the state visit. “The inclusion of Princess Kate in so many events is an honour. The President and First Lady very much hoped she would be involved, but her participation was only confirmed this week due to her recent health concerns.”
The couple will also privately lay a wreath at Queen Elizabeth II’s tomb inside St George’s Chapel, where they will hear a performance by the chapel choir.
This marks Donald Trump’s second state visit to the UK, an unusual privilege for any US president. However, it is also expected to trigger large-scale protests organized by the Stop Trump Coalition in both Windsor and London, prompting authorities to implement tighter security measures.
