President Donald Trump has once again criticized Fox News, accusing the network of using what he called “the worst polling” after being questioned about his recent poor ratings on the U.S. economy.
During an interview on The Story with anchor Martha MacCallum, Trump dismissed the findings of a new Fox News poll which showed 52% of voters believe the economy is worse under his administration, while only 30% say it has improved. Another 18% said they saw no difference compared to Joe Biden’s presidency.
MacCallum pressed Trump on concerns about inflation, rising grocery prices, and unemployment hitting a four-year high of 4.3%, according to the latest Bureau of Labor Statistics report. Job growth also slowed sharply, with just 22,000 new positions added last month far below economists’ expectations.
In response, Trump insisted the numbers don’t reflect reality and argued that his economic policies will deliver results once new factories open. He then lashed out at Fox News, saying:
“Fox polling, I’ve told Rupert Murdoch, go get yourself a new pollster because he stinks. This has been going on for years.”
This is not the first time Trump has clashed with Fox over polling data. During the 2024 presidential campaign, he described the network’s surveys as “atrocious” when they showed Kamala Harris leading in battleground states like Arizona, Nevada, Georgia, and North Carolina.
Trump has often claimed that when polls suggest a close race, he is actually ahead by a much larger margin, blaming what he calls “fake news” for skewing public perception.
