Charlie Kirk assassin suspect Tyler Robinson 'wrote chilling note' before shooting

Bombshell DNA Evidence Links Suspect Tyler Robinson to Charlie Kirk Shooting, Says FBI Director Kash Patel

New revelations from FBI Director Kash Patel have tied DNA evidence directly to Tyler Robinson, the man accused of fatally shooting conservative activist Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University on September 10.

In an interview with Fox News, Patel confirmed that investigators recovered a screwdriver from a university rooftop and a firearm wrapped in a towel from a wooded area nearby. Both items reportedly carried Robinson’s DNA. Patel described the towel as a “key piece of evidence,” noting that it was wrapped around the gun allegedly used in the attack.

Robinson, 22, from Washington, Utah, was arrested on September 11 on suspicion of aggravated murder and related charges. He remains in custody as prosecutors finalize the case.

According to Patel, the FBI arrived at the Utah scene within 16 minutes of the shooting. The first suspect photos were released the following morning, and video footage circulated soon after. Within hours, Robinson’s own father contacted the FBI, identifying his son as the suspect, leading to his quick arrest.

Authorities are also reviewing reported Discord chats in which Robinson allegedly joked about the incident. Patel confirmed investigators are still working through legal steps to access those messages but revealed that text exchanges between Robinson and his partner, along with location tracking, were already secured.

The FBI director said Robinson harbored “left-wing ideological views” and had even texted about having the chance to “take out” Kirk because of his opposition to the influencer’s beliefs.

Robinson’s background paints a picture of a once high-achieving student. He grew up in St. George, Utah, raised in the Mormon faith, and was an honor roll student who scored in the top one percent on standardized tests. He briefly attended Utah State University on scholarship before moving into an electrical apprenticeship program at Dixie Technical College. Records show he is a registered voter but inactive, and his parents are listed as Republicans.

Reports suggest Robinson has refused to cooperate with authorities and is under special watch while in custody.

Meanwhile, Vice President JD Vance honored Kirk by guest-hosting his show from the White House on Monday, describing him as “a joyful warrior.” Vance also traveled on Air Force Two to Utah to help accompany Kirk’s body to Arizona, where he will be laid to rest.

During a heartfelt conversation with Kirk’s widow, Vance said he was inspired by Kirk’s kindness and patience, noting that he hopes to carry those qualities into his own role as a husband and father.
