U.S. President Donald Trump has once again made headlines after revealing new details about his recent medical exam. Speaking live on the BBC, Trump confirmed that he underwent an MRI scan during his October visit to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, sparking renewed debate about his health and the level of transparency from the White House.
The 79-year-old described the MRI results as “perfect,” but the announcement left many observers questioning why such a test was performed. Journalist Ed Krassenstein shared a video clip of Trump’s remarks on social media, noting that MRIs are not typically part of a standard physical exam unless doctors have specific concerns or need to investigate a possible issue.
“BREAKING: Trump admits he was given an MRI during his October Walter Reed visit,” Krassenstein wrote. “MRIs are not routine. They are given when a problem is suspected or to rule out a condition. We need more transparency. Why was the MRI given?”
This was Trump’s second major medical visit to Walter Reed this year, following a full physical in April. The frequency of these visits and the decision to include advanced imaging has led to speculation that there may be more to his recent check-ups than routine care.
During an exchange with reporters on Air Force One, Trump confirmed, “I got an MRI. It was perfect.” When asked what the scan was for, he replied briefly, “You can ask the doctors.”
In the same conversation, Trump turned his attention to political rival Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC), calling her “low IQ” and suggesting she take the same “very hard” cognitive tests that he reportedly passed during a previous visit to Walter Reed.
“If you give her an IQ test, have her pass the exams I took when I was at Walter Reed,” Trump said, describing some of the questions as increasingly difficult.
Earlier this year, the White House disclosed that Trump had been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, a vein condition that can cause swelling in the legs. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated that Trump’s doctor discovered the issue after he reported discomfort and swelling. The condition is described as benign and common in older adults.
While Trump insists his MRI results were “perfect,” the public continues to demand greater clarity about his health especially as he remains a central figure in U.S. politics heading into 2025.
