GB News anchor Ben Leo stopped his live segment mid-interview with commentator Link Lauren after receiving breaking news involving former U.S. President Donald Trump.
Leo announced on air that Fox News had just reported Trump was seen boarding Air Force One in a hurry, taking the smaller staircase instead of the usual steps a move reportedly linked to a security discovery near Palm Beach.
The host asked Link Lauren if Trump’s security would likely tighten further after the discovery. Lauren replied that Trump already has “amazing security around him,” but admitted it was unclear if these heightened precautions would remain in place long-term.
Earlier in the segment, Lauren argued that Trump has been “dehumanized by the left”, claiming that political violence “has mostly been stemming from left-wing extremists.” He also referenced the recent assassination of Charlie Kirk, describing it as part of a worrying trend of political hostility.
“There’s a real issue when people think it’s acceptable to attack public figures they disagree with,” Lauren said. “This isn’t the America we should be living in where violence becomes a political tool.”
The conversation followed reports that the U.S. Secret Service had found a suspicious hunting stand near Palm Beach International Airport directly facing the area where Trump’s motorcade usually exits Air Force One.
According to Secret Service spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi, the FBI has launched a full investigation. He confirmed that the items of concern were discovered during advance security sweeps, adding that “no individuals were present or involved, and no impact was made on any movements.”
In light of recent events, sources say Trump has increased personal security measures. This marks the third major threat against the former president in under two years following a campaign rally shooting in July and another golf course incident last September.
