GB News interrupted its live broadcast with a major breaking news announcement and it’s a serious blow to former President Donald Trump’s circle.
It has been confirmed that John Bolton, Trump’s former National Security Advisor, has been indicted over the handling of classified information. Bolton, who served in the Trump administration from 2018 until his dismissal in 2019, now faces 18 criminal counts outlined in a 26-page indictment.
The FBI reportedly carried out searches at Bolton’s Maryland home and his Washington D.C. office earlier this year, uncovering sensitive documents allegedly kept from his time in government.
During the live GB News segment, presenter Bev Turner spoke with Ashley Bradfield, a reporter from The Daily Caller. Bradfield explained that the FBI accused Bolton of transmitting top-secret information to personal online accounts.
What makes this case even more striking is that Bolton had been publicly critical of Donald Trump over the Mar-a-Lago classified documents raid in 2022 and now finds himself facing similar allegations.
Turner questioned whether the fallout between Trump and Bolton stemmed from their opposing foreign policy views, noting:
“He used to be Trump’s ally, but Bolton is seen as a war-monger. Trump’s push for diplomacy and peace didn’t sit well with him.”
Foreign Correspondent Sara Firth added that the indictment wasn’t unexpected, recalling that Bolton had been warned by officials about possible legal consequences when publishing his memoir which contained classified insights from his time in office.
This latest indictment adds to a growing list of high-profile legal battles linked to former Trump officials, creating fresh tension in Washington as the 2024 election aftermath continues to ripple through U.S. politics.
Trump also had unclassified documents scattered all over his bathroom.
