Donald Trump sends 'Antifa elites' warning to 'people he dines with' in new threat

Donald Trump Warns of Action Against Antifa Funders After Labeling Group a Domestic Terrorist Organization

Donald Trump has issued a strong warning that his administration will take serious action against anyone allegedly funding the anti-fascist Antifa movement. Speaking during a White House roundtable discussion on Wednesday, Trump suggested that some of the suspected donors could even be “people I’ve dined with.”

This statement follows the president’s recent executive order officially designating Antifa as a domestic terrorist organization. The order authorizes the Justice Department to pursue individuals who provide “material support” to Antifa, even if that support does not directly lead to violence.

“They [Antifa] have been very threatening to people, but we’re going to be far more threatening to them,” Trump said. “And that includes the people funding them. Probably some of the people I know if they do, they’re in deep trouble.”

According to the order, Antifa has allegedly used “illegal means to organize and execute a campaign of violence and terrorism” aimed at destabilizing the federal government. It directs federal agencies to investigate, disrupt, and dismantle any unlawful activities linked to the movement.

Trump’s remarks come amid his broader crackdown on crime, which includes threats to deploy National Guard troops in Democratic-led cities. The move has reignited a political debate over the limits of presidential authority and free expression in the United States.

During the same roundtable, U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem accused Democratic leaders of “covering up the terrorism that is hitting their streets.” She claimed that Antifa’s goals “threaten the American people and their way of life.”

Antifa, short for “anti-fascist,” refers to a loose network of far-left activists who confront white supremacists and neo-Nazi groups at rallies. While many of its members participate in lawful protests, others have engaged in more confrontational acts a fact noted in a 2018 Congressional Research Service report.

Trump has long been critical of the movement. During his first term, he blamed Antifa for violence during protests following the killing of George Floyd. Recently, he has renewed his attacks after the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, accusing Antifa of inciting chaos across U.S. cities.

The controversy continues to divide public opinion with Trump supporters praising his firm stance against extremism, while critics argue the move targets political dissent rather than genuine threats to national security.
