Donald Trump publicly humiliates Pam Bondi by leaking messages over prosecuting enemies

Over the weekend, former President Donald Trump launched a fiery post on Truth Social, calling on U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi to take aggressive legal action against his political rivals.

In his lengthy message, Trump lashed out at figures such as James Comey, Rep. Adam Schiff, and New York Attorney General Letitia James, accusing them of being “guilty as hell” while claiming that no one in the Justice Department has been willing to prosecute them.

Trump also declared that he personally dismissed Erik Siebert, the former U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, after Siebert’s office reportedly found no grounds to bring charges against Letitia James in a mortgage fraud probe. Despite Siebert’s resignation announcement, Trump insisted, “No, I fired him,” while naming attorney Lindsey Halligan as his preferred replacement.

In another post, Trump praised Bondi as “very smart” and “careful” but argued she needed a tougher prosecutor in Virginia to “get things moving.” He pledged to nominate Halligan, describing her as “Fair, Smart, and dedicated to Justice for All.”

The move sparked criticism from legal experts and watchdog groups, who warned it was another example of Trump attempting to weaponize the Justice Department against his political enemies. According to the Associated Press, Siebert’s removal has fueled concerns about the erosion of long-standing norms meant to keep the DOJ independent from political influence.

Adding to the controversy, Trump repeated his grievances about being impeached twice and indicted multiple times, calling those cases “over nothing.” He also revisited the January 6th Capitol riot, despite overwhelming evidence that the attack was violent and left several dead and over 170 police officers injured.

Notably, on his first day back in office in 2025, Trump issued sweeping pardons to nearly 1,600 people tied to the January 6 assault, including many convicted of assaulting law enforcement.

Critics argue that Trump’s escalating demands on Bondi highlight his continued focus on revenge politics, while supporters see it as a push for accountability against his long-time adversaries.
