Donald and Melania Trump were caught in a heated exchange aboard Marine One, and a lip reader has now revealed the First Lady’s stern response. The tense moment occurred on Wednesday night, September 24, after President Trump’s appearance at the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
In the footage, the 79-year-old president is seen pointing his finger at Melania, 55, while they sat facing each other. According to a recent lip-reading analysis, Trump exclaimed, “It was unbelievable” and asked, “How can you do that?”
Before disembarking the presidential helicopter, Melania reportedly delivered a firm message to her husband, saying, “Donald, look at me,” while shaking her head emphatically. Despite the confrontation, the couple left Marine One holding hands as they crossed the White House South Lawn.
The dramatic exchange followed a chaotic UN visit. Their trip began with a frozen escalator as the couple stepped onto it. During Trump’s nearly hour-long speech, technical problems with both the teleprompter and audio further disrupted the event.
Frustrated by what he called a “triple sabotage,” Trump ordered an investigation. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed the probe, warning that anyone responsible for intentionally obstructing the president or first lady would face consequences. She later wrote on X, emphasizing that anyone who caused the escalator incident “needs to be fired and investigated immediately.”
Despite the disruptions, Trump delivered a lengthy and fiery speech, criticizing world leaders and the UN. He said, “The UN is supposed to stop invasions, not create them and not finance them,” highlighting his frustration with international organizations.
This tense moment came just days after Trump and Melania completed a historic second state visit to the UK, where they stayed with King Charles at Windsor Castle. During that visit, reports also noted Donald’s surprised reaction upon meeting Princess Kate shortly after landing.
