CNN has released a fresh update on former President Donald Trump’s approval ratings, and the numbers are far from encouraging. According to CNN’s senior data analyst Harry Enten, Trump has recorded negative net approval ratings on major issues for 181 straight days, stretching back to March 12.
Enten explained that while individual polls sometimes show slight improvements, the overall averages reveal a consistent downward trend. Speaking on air, he emphasized:
“When you look at the aggregate, Donald Trump’s net approval has been negative every single day since March 12. That’s 181 days in a row where he’s underwater.”
The poll highlights how Trump is struggling across almost every key policy area:
- Trade: –17 points
- Economy: –14 points
- Foreign Policy: –12 points
- Crime: –2 points
- Immigration: –3 points
What’s striking is that crime and immigration traditionally Trump’s strongest issues are now underwater as well, even if only by a slim margin.
Enten summed it up by saying, “There’s no good data for Donald Trump when looking at the averages. He has been negative for a long stretch, across nearly all major issues.”
With the numbers slipping among two core voter groups that were crucial to his past victories, analysts believe this continued decline could spell serious challenges for Trump as he looks ahead politically.
